Centerstream Hires JD Long as Director of Construction and Capital Projects

St. Louis, MO – January 12, 2026 – Centerstream, a district energy company dedicated to providing efficient, reliable, and forward-thinking energy solutions to its partners, today announced that JD Long has joined the company as Director of Construction and Capital Projects to lead project delivery across the company’s growing district energy development portfolio.

Long joins Centerstream from Washington University in St. Louis where he served as Associate Vice Chancellor of Facilities Planning & Management for almost a decade. At WashU, JD led a diverse team of professionals with oversight of planning and design, capital construction, utilities and maintenance for the 169-acre Danforth Campus. During his time there, he led a ~$360 million, 18-acre redevelopment that delivered five major new buildings and relocated surface parking underground.

In his role at Centerstream, Long will focus on the company’s construction and project delivery through disciplined planning, collaborative execution, and a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and long-term operability.

“JD is known for a practical, execution-focused leadership style that keeps teams aligned, risks surfaced early, and decisions made with clarity, making him a strong addition for Centerstream,” said Mason Miller, CEO, Centerstream. “We are excited to welcome him to the team and witness the valuable impact he’ll have as we continue to expand our development portfolio.”

Prior to his role at Washington University, he was a project director with Alberici Constructors and McCarthy Building Companies. Over his career, he has held operational oversight for capital improvement efforts exceeding $1 billion, spanning project planning, procurement, design management, construction, and facilities integration.

“I’m thrilled to join a team that values disciplined project delivery, strong collaboration, and operational excellence, and I look forward to helping advance Centerstream’s district energy projects in a way that delivers lasting value to our partners and the communities we serve,” said Long.

Long holds a bachelor’s degree in construction technology with a minor in business from Eastern Kentucky University.
