Centerstream Announces Wayne Barnett as Vice President, Corporate Development, Strategy & External Affairs
Centerstream, a district energy network and distributed energy developer, owner, and operator that co-develops energy and real estate priorities and builds long-term partnership structures with its customers, today announced the hire of Wayne Barnett as Vice President, Corporate Development, Strategy & External Affairs.

In his role, Barnett will support Centerstream’s growth strategy by advancing relationship-driven opportunity development and anchoring partnerships across energy and infrastructure markets, helping align stakeholders and bring the right teams together as projects move from concept into execution.
“Wayne’s experience across high-impact infrastructure markets strengthens our ability to build partnerships where district energy is developed alongside broader planning and capital priorities,” said Mason Miller, CEO of Centerstream. “We take a hands-on approach, bringing together development, engineering, finance, and delivery early, so our partners can move from ideas to built projects with clarity and momentum.”
Barnett will work in close coordination with internal teams, including engineering, finance, structuring, legal, policy, regulatory, and government affairs, as well as external partners who influence feasibility, capital formation, and execution strategy for priority projects.
“I am excited to join Centerstream at a time of significant growth and opportunity in the energy infrastructure space,” said Barnett. “I look forward to working with this exceptional team to expand strategic partnerships, advance development initiatives, and deliver long-term solutions with meaningful community impact.”
Throughout his 25-year career, Barnett has supported the delivery of more than $1 billion in energy infrastructure projects and the issuance and marketing of capital markets securities spanning hundreds of billions of dollars for public, non-profit, and private-sector clients. His experience includes facilitating a $165 million energy infrastructure M&A transaction involving a microgrid serving a US airport and supporting approximately $300 million in higher-education energy infrastructure projects across multiple institutions and campuses.
Barnett holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Montreat College and a graduate certificate in economic development from the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government.
